Pressing Past the Past
by Julee Jonez
It’s hard to move forward when your unresolved past presses against you.
Yolanda and Kennedy are best friends with two things in common: they love God and loathe their tumultuous pasts.
Yolanda was a street hustler turned minister, who’s constantly battling how to work for God and make her relationship with her husband work. Rumors of his philandering ways plague Yolanda, while she faces a strained relationship with her daughter. As church folks question if she’s suited for ministry due to her household struggles, when a person from her past pops up, her longtime secret could cause her to lose what she values most – her daughter and ministry.
Kennedy’s a well-kept housewife who seems to have it all: a godly woman with a beautiful appearance, stellar home, and committed husband. On the outside, no one would ever guess she wrestled with a secret sin for years. But when her husband chooses church work over her, Kennedy descends back to into the lifestyle she thought was a thing of the past. This time, her dance with the devil takes her over the edge with consequences that change her life and her marriage for good.
Though their faith and friendship are strong, both are put to the test when seeds of deceit reap a shocking harvest. As their past decisions come back to haunt them, will it result in payback or a peaceful future?
