Power of Prayer Devotional
by Tracy Jackson
Synopsis
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it, with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2 We cannot afford not to pray. We cannot survive without praying. Prayer is our lifeline. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 The ultimate key to spiritual growth is spending time alone with God. This means taking the time to speak with God about whatever is on your heart and, even more importantly, allowing Him to speak to you. The most intimate communication is to pray to the only true and living Savior, Jesus Christ. We are wise if we choose to spend time alone with God in prayer—in a place without distractions or interruptions. This is a period suitable for us to relax completely and focus our attention fully upon the Father and His Word.
